Northwest Scientific Association annually awards student grants and recognizes Outstanding Scientist and Honorary Life Membership.  You must be a member of the Northwest Scientific Association to participate in the students grant competition or to someone for the other awards.   

Student Grant Awards

Each year Northwest Scientific Association solicits research grant proposals from students throughout northwestern North America.  Supporting young scientists in their research endeavors is an important function of NWSA. 

Outstanding Scientist (need not be a member)

1. Why is the person known nationally or internationally for his/her scientific accomplishments?

2. What outstanding scientific contribution(s) of importance has he/she made to the Northwest?

3. Has the majority of his/her work been accomplished either while the person resided in the Northwest or performed on northwestern systems?

4. Are you willing to provide background information to the Awards Committee?

Honorary Life Membership (confined to members of the Association)

1. What outstanding service has been provided to the Association?

2. Has the service in office related to NWSA been provided for at least a decade?
